ID AND DURATION:
EFOP-1.3.7-17-2017-00109 | 2018.01.01. - 2020.09.28.
In January 2018, the consortium of the Czinka Panna Roma Cultural Association and the Regional Social Welfare Center started to implement a European Union project (EFOP-1.3.7-17-2017-00109) with the primary objective of a multi-level action against prejudice and discrimination as well as the implementation of compensation to the disadvantaged, the creation of social opportunities, and through this the large increase of social cohesion in Koroncó.
The indirect target group of the 30-month project is the population living in Koroncó and the direct target group is the Roma, the elderly, and the disabled. Community programs naturally affect the whole of the settlement. The sub-objectives of the project include raising public awareness, improving social sensitivity and coexistence, and developing the disadvantage compensation activities of churches.
Churches and ecclesiastical organizations, such as the Regional Social Institution Maintenance Center under the Hungarian Baptist Church, have significant activities in accommodating disadvantaged people, helping their lives and reducing socio-cultural disadvantages. As the topicality of these problems in Hungary is constant, it is essential to maintain, review and develop the activities that are being pursued. In order to develop the community activities of churches and to share good practices implemented by different institutions, we use an organizational development coordinator throughout the project implementation period, whose tasks include communicating with the institutions of the Hungarian Baptist Church.
In the framework of the project from 1 January 2018 to 30 June 2020, three clubs will be held each month for effective and efficient implementation, as well as six days of equal opportunities and four “Everyone’s Koroncó Day”, counseling, family mentoring and mediation to achieve the goals mentioned above. In the course of the project, we are also launching two conferences for 100 people, where, in addition to presenting project activities, we have the opportunity for all of our collaborating partners to get acquainted with the strengthening of social cohesion from lectures by professionals.
