The volunteer program in Mosonmagyaróvár was the first, independent project of the Czinka Panna Roma Cultural Association. The aim of the project was to create a Volunteer Point in the Mosonmagyaróvár sub-region to launch volunteer programs. Basically, the development of the capacities of local, state and civil institutions in the micro-region and the development of the human resources of the Association by volunteers was also a goal. The Association launched volunteering programs in the fields of education, social and healthcare, while involving Roma volunteers. In the Mosonmagyaróvár hospital we organized playful activities such as as children’s reading. We assisted the local social institutions by accompanying the elderly, and with news reading, and started a kindergarten-type employment group for disadvantaged children.

The success of the program is not only due to the double over-performance of the indicators, but also to the fact that the involved 240 volunteers had 70 people of Roma origin. In Parliament, the name of the Czinka Panna Roma Cultural Association was also mentioned in the interpellation of the project as an outstanding example of the spread of volunteering.
