IX. Czinka Panna Roma Culture Night

On May 18, 2013, the Czinka Panna Roma Cultural Association organized the traditional Czinka Panna Roma Cultural Night, for the ninth time, subtitled as Czinka Panna Music Evening. At the event, we gave the opportunity to local and regional Roma talents to perform, so more people could get to know them. The performers presented the values of Roma culture with authentic “lovári” and “beás” songs and dances.
Performers: Romungro Gipsy Band
An hour-long program with authentic lovári and beás songs and their more modern processing. The group consists of 5 members, 1 synthesizer, 1 accordion, 1 guitar, 1 can, 1 cajon, singer.
Szabrina
A half-hour program featuring modern popular songs based on Roma folk music in lovári and Hungarian language.
Győri Aranycsillagok (Gold Stars of Győr)
An 8-person dance ensemble with a half-hour demonstration of authentic lovári dances.
The number of participants was around 300 people, most of whom were of Roma origin, but we were glad that many non-Roma visitors were also interested in the cultural values presented by the performers.
