Management of the „New Chance” Tanoda in Gyömöre

During the 2 years of the project implementation, 35 primary school children with a disadvantaged background benefited from the of the out-of-school catching-up programmes . In addition to the subject developments, the project focuses on developing key competencies: native language competences, mathematical competences, ICT competences, foreign language competences.The implementors of the project also address the development of social competences as a priority. For this purpose a number of program elements have been designed and implemented: 2 times boarding camp (Dunasziget 2 times), 4 times field trip (Nagycenk, Budapest, Győr, Debrecen), 20 times Dankó Pista Club Activity (Dr. Júlia Lengyel, Dr. Szilvia Lakatos , Mónika Bogdán, Erika Negyediné Császár, Gina Szabó, Györgyi Szibekné Cseh, Lászlóné Horváth, Sándorné Horváth, Tibor Takács, László Kozalk, Éva Hegyiné Szalai, Attiláné Lázár, Imre Bors, Szabolcs Kiss, Csilla Tarcsáné Jankó- Szabó, Beáta Nagy, Hajnalka Somogyiné Varju, Bence Szentmárton-Borsó, Péter Szalai, Júlia Kende), where children can get acquainted with role models and 2 times a family day, which offers a chance for a family reunion. In addition to continuous (timetable-like) development sessions, children receive a school pack every academic year, and to maintain their motivation the best performing students receive gifts every six months. The Tanoda specially deals with the talent development of the students, and prepares them for competitions. Our Tanoda students can be proud of the many good results they have achieved.The professional days realized during the project and the continuous supervision also helped the development of the Tanoda Professionals.
The results of the program can be shown from several perspectives. The first is the quantifiable result that can be measured by the improvement in school achievements. This is one of the most spectacular result, as the overwhelming majority of the Tanoda students have significantly improved their school results at the time of involvement, and many of our students go on to study at a high school after the Tanoda.The second is the development of the social competence of the children, which is perhaps a less spectacular result, but it is also important and there are some big improvements in this area as we learned from the feedbacks of the teachers and social practitioners of the school. The third group of results, the integration of the Tanoda into the settlement environment, started with the trust of the cooperating organizations of the project (civil organizations, social service provider, local government) and then continued with the common municipal programs.
