At the initiative of the Czinka Panna Roma Cultural Association, the local government of Gyömöre has submitted a tender for the TOP-5.3.1-16-GM1 tender (in a consortium with the local government of Szerecseny and the Czinka Panna Roma Cultural Association) to support the community development processes that started back in 2012.
The elements of the project fit well into the already on-going community development processes, and they are also extended to the neighboring Szerecseny settlement. At the beginning of the project, the Local Action Plan and the Event Calendar will be established in both settlements, and local events, actions and interventions will begin.

Our program elements:

In Gyömöre we would like to organize the Advent celebration series every year, which would include a craft fair, a series of cultural programs, and a candle lighting event at the 4. weekend of Advent. There is no such event in the area, so it will be a great attraction for both the community and the inhabitants of the neighboring settlements. With this program, we want to take advantage of the communal strength of anticipation before the celebration of love by emphasizing the Christian past of the settlements. At the same time, we provide space for getting to know the Roma and Jewish roots of the settlement during the Advent celebration series.

During the implementation of the project we would like to organize study trips 6 times. 3 times for a foreign settlement within the EU and 3 times for a settlement in Hungary. These study trips could provide opportunities for sister city connections (neither Szerecseny, nor Gyömöre have sister cities at home or abroad), as well as learn good practices of community-building. According to our plans, at least 20 people (residents with a decisive role in the life of the settlements) would participate in the study visits.

During the project, we organize the “Valuable Talking’s” programs, 24 times, for which we invite celebrities who lived or still live Gyömöre, Szerecseny. In the moderated conversation, we want to focus attention on the local values. In the same series of programs, we invite other national celebrities who have made a lasting progress in the fields of science, culture or community development, so that the universal values can also be shown. We invite the local population to the events.

As part of the road safety activity, we organize a Bike-day every year in both Gyömöre and Szerecseny for spreading the culture of cycling. Bike-day will provide regular cycling programs, quizzes, and shows for all ages. In addition to awareness-raising and creating a safe cycling routes, Bike-day also wants to present a cycling community experience with skill competitions, bike racing (Sokoróalja Bicycle Competition), cycling parade.

We plan a day-time summer camp for 40 children aged between 10 and 18 years old from the two settlements 3 times a year (once a year). The camp contributes to the crime prevention activities of the project by developing police detection, civic protection, self-defense and other demonstrations, occupations and child avoidance techniques. The camp is 5 days old. The camp also contributes to the crime prevention activities of the project by showing police, civilian patrols, self-defense and other demonstrations, thus helping the children to train their crime detection abilities and the techniques to avoid being victims of crime. The camp last for 5 days.

During the implementation of the project, we are planning 3 times in Gyömöre and 3 times in Szerecseny a “Neighbours, and home-born” holiday event, which offers an excellent opportunity for families to get acquainted with the common leisure activities and a great chance to increase the cohesion level of the communities. When planning the all-day programs of the event, it is a priority to find relaxation opportunities for all ages and that the families can enjoy as many program elements together as possible. In the course of the project, we would like to hold crime prevention lectures 36 times in the primary school of Gyömöre, in the pension club of Gyömöre, and in the pension club of Serecseny. The topic of crime prevention lectures is adapted to the current public security situation and to regional and national trends.
