The leadership of the Czinka Panna Roma Cultural Association, at the invitation of Lívia Járóka, Vice-President of the EP, was in Brussels between 26-29 November 2017 with two other organizations (Khetanipe Association, EU-Rom Association) and the JALTE Association’s football team of Roma youth. During the visit, we spoke with the leaders of several European Roma organizations and senior officials of the European Union responsible for Roma issues, and presented the activities of our organizations and the implementation of the Hungarian National Social Inclusion Strategy.

On the first day we attended a conference of an international Roma organization, which was opened by Lívia Járóka, then we were officially invited to the program of the Hungarian Embassy by Károly Czibere, State Secretary for Social Affairs and Social Inclusion, and Iván Sörös, Head of Department. After, one of the most important programs of our visit followed, the active participation in the Roma Platform. After the plenary session, the Platform was divided into Work groups, and our organization worked in the Education Work group until the evening. During the evening we took part in an official reception opened by the concert of the Snétberger Center.
On the second day, we visited the European Parliament, and in the middle of the day, the JALTE association’s football team played a match with the football team of MEPs, officials and employees. The boys played very well and “beat” the EP team by 6-2. 😊 This is the Hungarian Roma Virtue. 😊 During the afternoon, we had the opportunity to see the city of Brussels during a free program.
It was an exhausting, but very effective visit, and during the official negotiations, we discussed how to strengthen the relationship with the European Parliament and will continue the discussions.
